Day 1: Casablanca - Rabat
You’ll be warmly welcomed to Morocco upon your flight’s arrival. At Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport, our organized and coordinated pickup service will take you to your Casablanca hotel. Here, you can relax and recover from your journey. Depending on the time, you may opt for an optional visit to the impressive Hassan II Mosque, one of the world’s largest mosques, renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship. Overnight in Rabat.
Day 2: Rabat - Chefchaouen
After breakfast, we depart from Casablanca to embark on our 15-day route, heading north to Morocco’s capital. We’ll explore the Hassan Tower, Kasbah of Oudaya, Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and Chellah Ruins. After lunch, we journey through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, known as the Blue City. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Exploring Chefchaouen
Chefchaouen, the Blue Pearl of Morocco, is famed for its blue-washed walls. Spend a full day exploring this captivating city, immersing yourself in the charm of its people in traditional attire. Overnight at the same hotel.
Day 4: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes
We set off for the stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site of Volubilis, home to impressive Roman ruins. Next, we visit Meknes, Morocco’s capital from 1672 to 1727 during Sultan Moulay Ismail’s rule. Highlights include the Bou Inania Medrese, Lahdim Square, Bab Mansour, and the Royal Stables. Around 4:00 PM, we head to Fes and check into our hotel.
Day 5: Exploring Fes
After breakfast, embark on a guided tour of the Medina led by a local official guide. Highlights include the Royal Palace, with its seven golden gates, and the ancient University of Al Karaouine, founded in 859CE by a woman. You’ll also visit the Tomb of the city’s founder, Moulay Idriss II, and explore the Najarine Fountain, the former Harem Garden, and the Batha Museum. Enjoy a panoramic view of the city before returning to the hotel.
Day 6: Fes - Middle Atlas - Cedar Forest - Erg Chebbi Dunes
Today, we leave Fes and Northern Morocco behind, journeying south towards the Sahara Desert. Along the way, you’ll witness a remarkable change in landscapes. We first stop at Ifrane, known as Morocco’s Swiss area, and then traverse the cedar forest, home to wild monkeys. Enjoy lunch in a Berber village called Zaida. Our route continues through the Ziz Valley and Erfoud, renowned for marble fossils, before reaching the Erg Chebbi Desert. After checking into your hotel, savor a traditional dinner.
Day 7: Excursion to Erg Chebbi Dunes - Merzouga (Camel Ride and Night in the Sahara)
Part of our 15 days desert tour from Casablanca revolves around the Merzouga dunes, where nomads still reside. We’ll start with Khamlia, known for traditional Gnawa music. Later, we’ll visit abandoned mines and palm tree oases. After a local lunch, return to the guesthouse for a camel ride into the sand dunes to explore the desert.
Day 8: Merzouga - Rissani - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley
As dawn breaks, you’ll return to the village of Merzouga, marveling at the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast at your hotel, we’ll set out for Rissani, Tinghir, and the Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest in Morocco, carved into the red rocks by the palm oasis. Following lunch in the heart of the canyon, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, passing by the majestic sand castles. Spend the night at a local hotel in the Dades Gorges.
Day 9: Dades Gorges - Rose Valley - Skoura - Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we continue our journey to Ouarzazate via the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. We’ll make a stop in Kalaat Magouna, a town known as the Rose Capital of Morocco, famous for its colorful rose valley landscapes. You’ll be amazed by the beauty of the vibrant Rose Valley before reaching the Skoura Kasbah, where you can explore the Amredil Kasbah. Finally, we’ll arrive in Ouarzazate, where you’ll admire the view of the Taourirt Kasbah. Enjoy dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 10: Ouarzazate - Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou - Taroudant
In the morning, we’ll depart Ouarzazate for the Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage Site. This Kasbah, constructed by Thami El-Glaoui, served as a crucial caravan stop between the Sahara Desert and Marrakech. It’s also famous for being featured in numerous films like Gladiator, Asterix, The Mummy, and more. As we explore the Kasbah, we’ll visit Taliouine, known as Morocco’s saffron capital, to visit local saffron associations. In the afternoon, we’ll arrive in Taroudant, often called “Little Marrakech,” where you’ll discover its Medina with its walls and colorful markets renowned for leather and wood products.
Day 11: Taroudant - Agadir - Essaouira
After breakfast, we’ll head to Essaouira via Agadir along the Atlantic Ocean. We’ll make a stop in Agadir, a popular tourist destination for many years. Following lunch, our journey continues to Morocco’s Mogador, Essaouira, situated on a small rocky platform by the sea. Its primary industry is fishing, so don’t miss the vibrant spectacle of returning fishing boats.
Day 12: Essaouira - Marrakech
Today, after a hearty breakfast, we’ll take the highway to the “Red City” of Marrakech, passing through the Argan tree forest. We’ll have several photo stops with goats harvesting Argan fruits and visit an Argan oil association run by local women, where you can learn about Argan oil production and purchase some products. We’ll then continue on to Marrakech. Spend the night at a riad or hotel.
Day 13: Exploring Marrakech
Enjoy a full-day excursion in Marrakech, starting with the Menara, a pool surrounded by flowerbeds used as an irrigation system for nearby fields. Your sightseeing tour will include various breathtaking sights: the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Majorelle Gardens (once owned by Yves St. Laurent), and the Dar si Said Palace Jewelry Museum. You can opt for lunch in the Medina followed by a stroll through Marrakech’s colorful souks. As the day winds down, savor a drink while overlooking the lively Jemaa el Fna square from a café terrace before returning to your accommodation.
Day 14: Marrakech
Opt for a half-day excursion to the nearby Ourika Valley, south of Marrakech, for an authentic experience of traditional Berber life.
Day 15: Marrakech - Airport
We’ll arrange your airport transfer (either Marrakech or Casablanca) depending on your flight’s departure time. Return home with cherished memories as our grand tour of Morocco comes to a close.
